Wide open race to start the quaddie. Chicago Bear looks well placed in a race like this, he made good ground behind Flash Flood at Caulfield, the drop in trip is slightly against but he can make his own luck from a middle gate and give this a shake. Electric Belle draws the inside and made good ground to be narrowly beaten at Caulfield behind Skywolf two starts back and jumps to the mile. Silent Surrente put together consecutive Morphettville wins before running down the track at Flemington back ion June. He's trialled well and must be respected.  RACE 8 - 4:12PM Lightning Stakes (1050 METRES)

The barrier draw has made this very exciting with Exploring drawing wide. She likes to be on speed. She won a Blue Diamond Prelude in February and looked good first-up from a spell when she led throughout to beat Archo Nacho at Flemington. She's going to have to work from the gate but is a quality filly and going to look the winner for a long way. Outback Miss also draws out and is unbeaten in two starts for the Price/Kent Jnr stable the latest at Caulfield. She might be able to sit just off the speed from wide and get over the top. La Danseuse Rouge was 2nd behind Aitch Two Oh in the Red Roses at Flemington in the Spring and is a winner first-up. RUN LIKE HELL is unbeaten back in class but has early speed and a middle gate. SOCIAL CONSCIENCE is a nice horse drawn the middle and capable of mixing in a race like this. DECLARED draws a middle gate and was solid running 2nd in the Merchant Boss race. WALLY WEST ran well behind Validated last time. MINTULEE was a good winner on debut and is another who draws wide.

SELECTIONS: 16 OUTBACK MISS, 15 Exploring, 9 Sweetened, 6 La Danseuse Rouge
BACKING: Something on SWEETENED each-way at the odds.

 RACE 9 - 4:47PM Grand Syndicates Handicap (1100 METRES)

Merchant Boss  was very impressive back in trip winning smartly around the Parks last time. He draws a wide gate but is going to take beating. Sabermetric bolted in here first-up last time in work and is unbeaten in two first-up runs. He maps to get a nice run here and should be in the finish. FOX DUNNETT was good running 3rd in the Merchant Boss race and must be respected. CRAFT STAR draws out but was an odds-on favourite winning his Werribee maiden last time.
