The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Warmonger maintains favouritism at $4.80 with Sportsbet despite drawing barrier 14 with Damian Lane to ride.

Warmonger again caught the eye when he steamed home from the back of the field in last weekend's Group 3 Chairman's Stakes, beaten a tick over a length behind Bold Soul who sits on the second line at $6 after as much as $12 was on offer, and will start from gate 12.

The Price/Kent Jnr stable, who claimed last weekend's Group 1 Australian Oaks with Vibrant Sun, will saddle up three runners in the three-year-old feature with local jockeys securing the rides on his stablemates Shinjuku and Tulsa King.

Todd Pannell will partner Shinjuku who drew perfectly in barrier two and is marked a $26 chance while in contrast Jake Toeroek will jump from a wide barrier (17) aboard Tulsa King who is an outsider at $41.

Local hopes will rest with Air Assault and A Samurai Mind who are both marked $18.

Andrew Gluyas' Air Assault is drawn awkwardly in gate 13, while A Samurai Mind looks perfect drawn in barrier five with Lachlan Neindorf chasing his second Group 1 win in as many weeks.

Chris Waller's three-year-old filly Ahuriri, who will be ridden by Craig Williams, is on the drift from barrier 11, while Jamie Kah will partner the other filly – Tony and Calvin McEvoy's Coco Sun – as they try and beat the boys.

Dom Tourneur will again be aboard Sydney galloper Steel Blaze, Jacob Opperman has secured the ride on Sunsets for the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young stable while Jeff Maund will be hoping to go one better on Just Berrilliant for brother Ricky Maund after their narrow miss in the Chairman's Stakes.
