LISMORE: RACE 6 @ 4:39 PM
NORTHERN STAR (12) hit the line strongly at the latest, beaten a head at Ballina. Gets a slight weight relief and draws the pole. Ready to win one and this can set up for him to do that. UNO AMOR (5) is going well this time in with two placings from three runs. Apprentice claims 3kgs and draws nicely. Worth serious thought. COTTON CAPER (11) was a handy winner two back before putting in a determined chase last time at Coffs Harbour. Rise in trip looks to suit. Don't dismiss. SELECTIONS: Going with Northern Star.
BENALLA: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
FREE FLYING STAR (14) peaks and has just been nudged out her last two heavily-bet. Has to manage an outside gate but can be winning with average luck. Ratings say that she is the one. SIREN ROCK (2) was beaten a lip first-up as favourite and has more to give. In a top barn and he is feared. THEN (15) draws for the run of the race and was tracking well before the latest. She's going well enough to consider. BELLOWS (4) got closer the latest and is racing well enough to fill a slot. SELECTIONS: Fancy Free Flying Star.
COWRA: RACE 6 @ 3:40 PM
IMPORTANT PRODUCT (3) was taken to town for a highway event last start after three very good runs to open this campaign, things never panned out at Randwick and he will appreciate being back to this level. He has a wide draw to overcome but should still have a bit on this field. Hard to beat. NO DEBT (7) cleared maidens two starts back and then followed that up with a bold front running display before finishing runner up at his next effort, he has obviously taken no hard from that effort and should be thereabouts again. DEVIATE (1) was running on nicely last start and should appreciate the step up in distance for this assignment, her best form is on softer surfaces and if she gets conditions to suit then she will be even harder to beat. Watch closely. SELECTIONS: Important Product win bet.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 4:45 PM
FESTIVAA (10) resumes from a spell and has just had the two starts which included a win on debut at Gold Coast over 1200m when the favourite. Has had a recent trial to get fit and she rates as one of the better chances. APACHE BLUE (6) resumes from a short break and with five placings from nine runs this prep along with a good draw is going to be right in it at the finish. FIGHTING MAD (17) is third-up today and is a previous winner at this track. He came home well here last start to finish fifth of 11 runners over 1300m and will appreciate dropping back 100m in distance, rates as a solid each-way chance. ROYALE RETURN (14) chased well to just miss last start at Toowoomba after racing wide for most of the trip, one of the main dangers. SELECTIONS: Festivaa to win.
YARRA VALLEY: RACE 7 @ 4:20 PM
RUNAWAY TRAIN (3) looks ready to show her best third up with the Blinkers coming off. She stuck to her task well last start off a tough run which should set her up nicely for this. Might set up well rolling across from out wide with the pace steady. CRAFTY EFFORT (2) was no match for High Done last start but he'll make his own luck on speed and warrants respect off some consistent form this preparation behind some handy types. LUNA ONE (4) can run well over this trip first up having broken her Maiden prior to spelling. She appeals each way. BUCKS (5) broke through last start and is worth including in the exotics now that he's found winning form. SELECTIONS: Can set up for Runaway Train.
GERALDTON: RACE 8 @ 4:55 PM
SON SON (2) has come of age as a four year old and was only narrowly beaten last start, all his form has been in the city but this field is of similar quality and from the handy draw he will be one of the toughest to beat again. STARTRADE (12) is the top local hope but unfortunately has come up with a visitors draw, he showed lots of ability when last tried and would have matured further over his spell. Look for him late if they go too quick early. JERICHO MISSILE (1) is a quality galloper who has been set for this race, he had a good blowout in the city fresh up and as a winner twice second up he will be one of the hardest to beat. KENYLUCK (3) just loves racing here and has posted all his eleven wins on this track, he hasn't been far away in his latest runs in the city and from a handy draw here will be right in the finish. SELECTIONS: Son Son win bet.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 6 @ 4:35 PM
YURI ROYALE (2) was too good here resuming for the hot barn. He still has more up the sleeve and tipping he can make the double. APPOLLO JET (3) led and just missed resuming in town. He also has more to give and can control the race from the low barrier. The second-up record is good. BLAH BLAH BLAH (4) has placed both runs in and they stack-up. Draws an outside gate and that's a query. AMBIDAZZLE (6) is in good hands and can show more third-up. Holder replaces the apprentice and that's a lead. SELECTIONS: Backing Yuri Royale.
