The Mark Walker trained Aabir has displayed decent ability in four starts and now appears well placed to break through at Kranji this evening.
Due to contest the second event, Aabir has finished second in both attempts on the polytrack with his only blemish this preparation coming on the turf.
Remaining in Class 5 company, Aabir should be right at his peak fourth up and the engagement of apprentice jockey AB Riduan is a big push.
Still holding a 4kg claim, Riduan is absolutely flying, notching up eight wins from just 23 rides.
Already fourth on the Apprentice Jockey Premiership Table, Riduan is only seven wins off the leader CC Wong.
Comparatively CC Wong has notched up 15 wins from 171 rides and is striking at just shy of 9%.
Don't want to get too carried away, but Riduan won't be claiming 4kg for long and on what we've seen, he is already the most talented apprentice in Singapore.
From the inside draw expect Riduan to be fairly positive and he could in fact lead in the field off 11.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he sits clear of his rivals and only looks to have to hold his form to be right in the finish again.
Unlike a majority of his rivals, Aabir is still on the improve, where as a number of these have already reached their respective mark.
He is by no means a superstar, but this is a very winnable assignment and with his fair share of luck, he should prove very hard to beat.
The Donna Logan trained Qiji Commander was only narrowly beaten last start and while at big odds (30-1), he still looms as a major threat.
Lining up at just his eighth start, Qiji Commander is trending the right way and with the aid of the claim, he too appears well placed.
From the rails draw he is expected to press forward and be in this for a long way.
The Leslie Khoo trained Basilisk has mixed his form, but often gets too far back and is capable on best form.
A sole winner from 21 starts, he has placed on a further seven occasions and if able to take up a position, he should be fairly strong late.
Of the rest, the Mark Waker trained Astra drops back from Class 4 company and cannot be taken lightly with Vlad Duric back aboard (won 1/1).
Good luck and happy punting.
