Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 4.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Hawkesbury, Cranbourne, Gatton & Northam.

Hawkesbury: Race 3 @ 1:35pm

Covert Ops, Miraculous and Vivaro to go forward. Gerald Ryan has found a nice race for his promising colt COVERT OPS (2) to break the ice. Missed the start by a couple of lengths last start over this trip at Randwick but recovered to charge home and finish just 0.7 lengths from the winner. Back sharply in grade today and looks the winner. VIVARO (11) was trapped wide and weakened out of the contest first up over this trip at Kembla 19 days ago. Showed ability in Melbourne last prep so can improve today with better luck in running. MISTRESS MOUSE (10) won a recent trial and looks set for a bright return following a six-month break from racing. MORETHANNUMBERONE (3) for trifecta/first four punters. SELECTIONS: #2 Covert Ops to win - has a big class edge on his rivals.

Cranbourne: Race 4 @ 2:30pm

Catching Beams may lead. CATCHING BEAMS (2) runs along and will be better for the first-up run when caught wide and has plenty up the sleeve. Missed a nose three back this grade at Moonee Valley and no surprise if she wins this with the handy 3kg claim. KAIMU (5) resumes from a low draw with Walker engaged. She’s up to this and a bold run won’t surprise. SPENSIERATO (7) resumes with the blinkers applied first time and has won fresh. He has claims. LAOBAN TAI TAI (6) was much better at Warrnambool and is a chance holding that. SELECTIONS: #2 Catching Beams looks a bet at the each way odds available.

Gatton: Race 5 @ 3:05pm

SECRET SPIRIT (1) is hard to go past. Gave nothing else a chance two back at Beaudesert. Bumped into a deep CL3 more recently at Toowoomba and wasn't disgraced, finishing in third. Trending the right way. Should dictate on his terms. In a good yard and appears the one to beat. REMEMBER MARY (4) is no pushover. She knows where the finishing post is. Raced off the speed last start and that didn't suit her. Put up two impressive wins in succession prior to that. Will settle on the speed here and can improve sharply. ROGUE DRUMMER (5) next in line.SELECTIONS: Secret Spirit for the win.
