Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 7.

Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Canterbury, Cranbourne, Ipswich, Belmont & Gawler.              

Canterbury: Race 4 @ 3:10pm

Positive Peace or Gypsy Miss to lead at a fair tempo. SELES (1) looks hard to beat dropping back to midweek class today. Has caught the eye in her past two runs over 1400m and 1500m at Rosehill, the latest when she came from last on the turn and clocked the best final 800m of the race to finish 3.1 lengths back. Enjoys a cosy run from gate three and over the slightly longer trip today looks too strong. POSITIVE PEACE (4) backs up just 5 days after being cut down close to home over the mile at Wyong. Expect that form to stack up okay. MONEGAL (3) was ridden a bit closer last time when 3rd at this course and distance. Finds the line well every time and is one to watch for late in the piece. MOANA JEWEL (2) is racing in terrific form and cannot be underestimated. SELECTIONS: This looks a very nice race for #1 Seles.

Ipswich: Race 6 @ 2:50pm

Plenty of early speed with Weboughtazou and Masterati sure to be prominent. HOLLABACK GIRL (11) returned in good order at Eagle Farm hitting the line well. He can sit handier today and Byrne sticks. She has more to give and will go close. WEBOUGHTAZOU (3) seeks the hat-trick and is doing it well. This is harder but he can keep improving.  MASTERATI (4) resumes off a trial win and is up to this. Draws handy with a claim and can be right in the finish. SHE'S SPICY (10) posted a strong figure resuming and then things didn't work out at Eagle Farm. Fitter, she's also a hope. SELECTION: This is a tricky card muddied again by plenty of scratchings despite the dry surface. SELECTIONS: #11 Hollaback Girl gets the nod in a good contest. 

Cranbourne: Race 6 @ 3:55pm

STRIPPING ROYALTY (9) has placed last three and overdue. Just missed first try here two back. Should be right in the finish. THE REGIMENT (10) is also overdue. Runner up last four and deserves a win. Nice draw and worth thought here. DO YOU RECKON (5) led and folded right up from a wide gate in open class latest. A better showing expected. Respect. TAIKUN WARRIOR (8) rates well and definite each way hope here. SO YOU SWING (11) was thereabouts latest. Drawn wide but will be winding up strongly. SELECTIONS: Stripping Royalty gets chance.

Gawler: Race 8 @ 5:30pm

A number can race handy and are capable of leading. MIA GEORGIA (6) just missed resuming for the new yard off strong trials. She brought strong Victorian form and can with this at her favourite trip drawn low and keeping the claim. ARCTIC BLAZE (4) won here at this level by a space 10 days ago as a firm favourite. That rates well but he needs to manage the tricky gate here. SUNMATE (1) won the Maiden comfortably here resuming and as the market anticipated. This is a jump but he is an improver who should be around the mark. THANASI (3) next best forgiving the latest. SELECTIONS: Punting #6 Mia George can roll the favourite.
