Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 11th August 2019

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 11.

Racecourse : Wagga (Australia)
Racecourse : Wagga (Australia)

There's meetings on right around Australia this Sunday at Wagga, Bendigo, Casterton, Sunshine Coast, Kalgoorlie, Port Augusta and Devonport.

Wagga: Race 6 @ 4:05pm

Will scoot along in this. JODHPUR (1) is progressing the right way. Brave in defeat from the wide draw at Wagga on resumption. Possesses good upside. Worth another chance. MASTER OF NORWAY (4) appears a danger. Made necessary improvement with a placing at Albury a fortnight ago. Fit horse capable of running well again. WITHORN (10) is hard to catch. Never balanced at Cowra last start. Goes well here and should be ridden closer to the speed. DOCTOR FORCE (12) can be value at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jodhpur for the win.

Bendigo: Race 6 @ 3:15pm

Good early speed. Quenton and Credible Witness look the likely leaders from Zuberina, Wasabi and Flying Frog. WHENEVER WHEREVER (1) is a promising horse having only missed a place once in five starts. He only narrowly missed last start behind the talented Grandview Avenue and the wide draw may not be a disadvantage by this stage of the day. He handles Heavy ground and is easy to like. ZUBERINA (3) creates plenty of interest resuming having finished third last start over this distance behind none other than Mystic Journey. Prior to that she had won three on end and she can race handy. Keep safe. BETTER HARDEN UP (12) won narrowly on debut and reappears first up for a new trainer. Has been well backed in early markets. CREDIBLE WITNESS (4) is a must include in multiples having placed at his past three starts in this grade. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Whenever Wherever

Sunshine Coast: Race 7 @ 4:30pm

No designated leaders and the speed will likely come from out wide in the large field. COCO FASHION (3) missed a lip resuming and has come back near best. She didn't get it easy in that and looks the one to beat with a good ride. MUSICAL BLUES (6) won here and then was a bit keen early but hit the line okay in stronger at Eagle Farm at long odds. This suits better and she should be right in the finish. ZOULOU DANCER (8) won the Maiden well as expected and then missed a whisker at the Gold Coast. This is a bit harder but she is on an upward curve. GOLDEN LILY (13) wasn't far away at Grafton and that reads alright. She's in the mix. SELECTION: #3 Coco Fashion looks ready to win following the strong first-up effort.

Kalgoorlie: Race 3 @ 4.17pm AEST.

Tajmali from a wide gate will cross and lead from Serket. JACK'S FROST (1) has been about the mark at all three runs this prep and is ready to win. Shared the lead into the straight last start over today's distance but was out-muscled by the winner close to home. Not much depth to the opposition today. TAJMALI (10) first up for a new stable is the threat. The best of three runs in the maiden campaign was first up when 3rd at Ascot. Comes to hand quickly and will be hard to run down. EMERALD ROSE (4) registered her fifth minor placing in 18 runs when 3rd over this trip recently, making up good late ground. Each-way chance. Not much beyond this trio - ROSEICAPILLA (11) next in line. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on #1 Jack's Frost to break through.

Port Augusta: Race 5 @ 3:25pm

Three or four capable of leading and expect a soil tempo over the 1500m. EXALTED TRAVELLER (5) was back to form just missing at the Parks at 1400m. Worked to the speed and draws to advantage again today with the claim. He looks well-placed. FULTON STREET (1) is fast and seeks the hat-trick. Keeps improving and gets the handy 3kg claim in much easier grade. PARK BENCH (4) won the 58 by a space at Mildura running his best race. Draws well and expect the form to hold up. LEONARDA (6) presents off an easy 54 win here and she has to be considered as well. SELECTION: #5 Exalted Traveller hasn't won for a while but this suits.

Casterton: Race 4 @ 2:55pm

RAKTOFF (3) led and won the Maiden by 8L and then built his figures in much stronger than this at Sandown when he was caught late well in the market. Peaks now and is the one they have to beat. STAR FINDER (2) runs along and placed here resuming this grade and venue for the new yard and has more to give off that. Expect him to go close. MANHATTAN SPIRIT (5) got closer the latest and should be around the money. BAJAN (4) is over from South Australia and is better than the recent runs suggest. SELECTION #3 Raktoff looks well suited.
