The Donna Logan trained Good Luck Charm returned in a big way last start and appears poised to go back to back on Saturday evening.
Due to contest the tenth event, Good Luck Charm makes the rise to Class 4 company, but still appears very well treated at the weights.
Only a recent addition to the Logan stable, Good Luck Charm placed in three of his first six starts before switching stables at the back end of 2018.
Off the scene for 357 days, Logan applied the blinkers for the first time and it proved a masterstroke.
A noted on-speed runner, he often failed to see out the trip over 1100m, but had no issues charging through the line in his first up attempt.
Ridden by Alysha Collett, he always travelled boldly and when asked to click up, he put the race away in a few strides.
Eased down late to score by 5.5L, the clock also backed up the strength of his performance and he appears destined for better company.
Kept fresh (34 days), he remains at 1000m and is expected to press forward from the middle draw.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he holds a clear edge off the back of his first up win and only looks to have to repeat that level of performance to be winning again.
Only lightly raced, he is expected to be winning on Saturday and is a horse that can be followed with confidence.
The Ricardo Le Grange trained Yulong Green wasn't beaten far first up and the booking of Vlad Duric is a decent push.
Suspect he can only improve further second up and with even luck, he looms as a major threat from the gun draw.
The Mark Walker trained Man Of Mystery was below his best last start, but is clearly better than that and remains under strong notice.
He has placed in 7/12 attempts on the polytrack and like him kept fresh (35 days) for this event.
Of the rest the Dan Meagher trained Grand Choice appears the next in line.
While prone to mixing his form, he is more than capable when right and remains under strong notice.
Good luck and happy punting.
