Bathurst: Race 3 @ 3.05pm

Very little early speed on paper after the scratchings. SAPPHIRES SON (6) is racing well and a maiden win is imminent. Settled a long way back then made a significant late move to finish just half a length from the winner over 1400m at Scone last start. Can settle closer from a better gate today - very hard to beat with the three main rivals all coming out. MAKE AN OFFER (2) put the writing on the wall last start, chiming in late to get up for 2nd over six furlongs at Goulburn at his third run back from a spell. Very fit now after three runs back and is looking for the extra trip. HIGH INTELLECT (8) is a Reliable Man debutante, and a half-brother to G2 placegetter Comeback. Trial form moderate but is from a good family so should possess some ability. This trip looks ideal first up. UNLOCK THE ROCK (10) has impressed at both runs this prep and cannot be left out of calculations. SELECTION: Back #6 Sapphires Son to win.
