Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 27.
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Muswellbrook, Sapphire Coast, Pakenham, Warrnambool, Beaudesert, Albany & Darwin.
Muswellbrook: Race 4 @ 3:40pm
Successor and Emperor's Star to establish a slick tempo. GREAT DANGER (3) scored first up over 1200m at Newcastle then chased hard when runner-up in the Hawkesbury Provincial Championship qualifier over 1400m last start. Very consistent gelding who only needs luck from the wide gate to take this out. INVICTA (2) is a chance first up from a ten-month break. Best form is at a mile but while fresh with blinkers on he should sprint well. SAUSALITO (6) did his best work late when a close 5th over 1100m at Armidale last time. Racing well and boasts a fine record at this trip. Hard to toss but is another who needs luck from the gate. SUCCESSOR (7) showed plenty of fight when narrowly beaten over 1200m at Grafton last start. Sure to be prominent for a long way. SELECTIONS: #3 Great Danger looks too good for these.

Sapphire Coast: Race 6 @ 4:40pm
Show Tickets will be quick into stride. ZELAGO (6) was impressive in the Federal maiden at Canberra on Opal day. He was wide but kept up a strong rhythm and despite hitting the front a fair way out, his will to win got him across the line. Deserved that. He'll derive plenty of confidence. Well placed to go on with the job. Clear threat looks to be EXOTIC DEEL (7). She's a lightly-raced type with plenty of talent. Third in a handy form race at Canberra most recently. Albury win prior was electric defeating four subsequent winners. If she can get an ounce of luck from the wide alley she'll take a power of beating. ALQAAB (2) is a recent acquisition to the stable (Ex Hayes/Dabernig). Won well as a hotpot at Wagga in October last year. Untapped and should be respected. SHOW TICKETS (11) will leave and give a sight. Few key rivals have drawn wide but she'll be on the bunny and running them along. Will have plenty of admirers. SELECTIONS: Zelago is better than even money the place. That's a solid bet.
Warrnambool: Race 9 @ 5:00pm
It’s not clear-cut who will run them along. OLYMPIC OATH (4) has needed the two runs back and is ready to fire for the sharp yard. This trip is perfect now and his best figures are good enough for this. IRISH DELIGHT (7) is quick and missed a nose before delivering the comfortable win in this grade/venue/trip. She gets the chance to repeat. RHYTHMIC QUEEN (5) didn’t get into it the latest in stronger company, but was tracking along okay prior. Expect him to be around the mark with the handy 3kg claim. TRAINTONOWHERE (11) has been much better the last two and should clear the wide gate okay. Can fill a slot on the quick return. SELECTIONS: Looks the right race for #4 Olympic Oath.
Albany: Race 7 @ 8:15pm
Murray The Bulldog can roll over and lead with the 3kg claimer astride and there are three or four others that can race handy. BOOTLEG RASCAL (7) is an improver who was only beaten 1.4L second-up at Geraldton as favourite. Has trialled well since at Bunbury and can win for a top yard at the suitable trip. CHASING CHAOS (2) has been busting to win and got close this level the latest. He will use the low gate and at a price gets the chance to go one better. BENTLEY'S BROTHER (5) has been going along okay and finds easier grade. Draws well and the shorter trip shouldn’t worry. MURRAY THE BULLDOG (3) will make short work of the wide gate and gets the 3kg claim. He’s always a hope at this level. SELECTIONS: #7 Bootleg Rascal is a bet at the each-way quote.
Pakenham: Race 9 @ 8:30pm
Malevolent and Hunamosa can run them along. YULONG PATROL (2) is ready to fire for a leading yard and has plenty up the sleeve. Finds easier and is drawn to advantage. The one to beat. MALEVOLENT (6) is fast and won at this level before fading late the race after up in weight. Rates well and gets the chance to bounce off the brief freshen. DUCHESS GRACE (4) had a tough run the latest but the previous outing reads well and she has to be considered. HUNAMOSA (1) found the grade too tough last time, but impressed the one before and he's well in the mix running along. SELECTIONS: #2 Yulong Patrol can find her best and win.
