Wodonga: Race 4 @ 3:00pm

A lack of early pace will turn this into a real battle of tactics. SILESIAN (6) raced on the speed but struggled in the straight through heavy going and finished a well-beaten 4th over this trip at Werribee last start. A couple of key gear changes and a firmer track bring him right into calculations. HIGH ADVICE (4) drove hard late and just missed out in a busy finish first up over 1400m at Gundagai last time out. Widely travelled in his three runs and looks to have found his right level this prep under Donna Scott. SHADOW OF PYLON (9) was in the firing line all the way and battled on fairly for 3rd over this distance at Wangaratta recently. Cherry-ripe after three runs back and can play a major role. IT'S WAR (5) tired badly at the end of 1400m last start but is fitter now and can improve. SELECTION: Expect #6 Silesian to take this out.

Narromine: Race 6 @ 3:10pm

Speculative how they settle, but expect the large field to run along. EVA'S DEEL (8) was wide and didn't miss by far second-up at Orange. That reads very well for this and she can break through at decent odds keeping the handy claim. CLEVER MISSILE (1) resumes off two trials and is up to this at best. Gets the rail and the 3kg claim and the blinkers go on again. GORN HOFF (5) was good resuming and was just pipped after as favourite. Keeps improving and looks a genuine chance. BEE DOUBLE BEE (3) recorded a tough win at this level on the same day coming from the back, and won't be far away keeping the leading hoop. SELECTION: #8 Eva's Deel looks a solid bet at the healthy each way quote.

Grafton Race 5 @ 3:35pm

FLYING EUROS (5) goes wet and dry and comes to peak off the near miss at Coffs Harbour. Was just nudged out both here and at the Gold Coast near the back of the last campaign, and should be winning this pushing forward. DOMINICA ROSE (9) placed at Ballina resuming running her best race. She will race handy and will be in the finish building on that. PHYLAVE (3) missed a whisker first-up at Coffs on the heavy on the Flying Euros race and that reads well. Managing the wide gate will be tougher today. KORRIN (10) was better the latest and presents as a minor hope. Dominica Rose looks the most likely leader in a race devoid of early goers. SELECTION: #5 Flying Euros makes strong appeal.
