Dubbo: Race 6 @ 3:25pm

SONS OF BOURKE (5) came from the back to win the 58 here resuming and impressed. He will sit handier today from a good gate and won't have to improve much to be the one to beat. KOOKABAA (2) was back to his best 9 days ago winning the CL3 by a space at Mudgee as a favourite. He will likely push forward again and the 3kg claim brings him right into it. FESTIVAL OF LIGHT (1) resumed improved winning comfortably here this grade as a well-supported favourite and he will have come on. He will get a soft run from the rail and should go close. MISS POWERBELLE (3) resumes for the new yard and is a capable mare who performs fresh. Has been away for a while, but has trialled twice and watch the market closely. SUGGESTED PLAY: With Sons Of Bourke in a very competitive contest.

Pakenham: Race 9 @ 4:30pm

No place for the feint-hearted in the last, with Reard and China Affair setting a cracking tempo. POWER BOOM (9) is a promising filly who is well-placed to win first up from a 21-week spell. Opened the last prep with a comfortable win in maiden grade over 1100m at Seymour. Didn't measure up in town in a couple of subsequent runs. Enjoys the run of the race from gate four before scratchings. REARD (2) went like the clappers and was only nailed close to hope when resuming over 975m at Swan Hill last start. Led all the way to win by 5.5 lengths over this trip on the Ballarat synthetic second up last prep. Huge threat. OH SO REWARDING (6) was on a hat-trick but struggled in a Bm64 at Ballarat in heavy going recently. Won a similar race to this at Wangaratta two runs back with the same weight - big chance if he recaptures that form. GETEMHEL (1) sprouted wings to get up when resuming over this distance at Werribee last start. Second up form not as impressive - each-way claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Good race to close. Backing #9 Power Boom but terrified of Reard who will be hard to catch.

Northam: Race 6 @ 5:30pm

At least half a dozen race on pace and are capable of pushing on to lead. PASTRY (11) has placed the three runs back with the latest a 1.1L defeat at Belmont with Pike aboard. He sticks and the mare may lead from the low gate. She looks very hard to beat. CARABINIER (6) deserved the CL3 win at Ascot and keeps improving. She gets the rail and will lead or stalk. He's a genuine hope. GLASGOW GIRL (2) made a ratings spike beaten 2L at Belmont and that stacks right up. Gets the handy 3kg claim today but has to manage the wide gate. The yard is flying. INFLATION (4) resumes off a 2L Lark Hill trial win with the blinkers on again. She will make short work of the tricky gate and is up to this at best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Pastry to win.
