Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 2.
Sandown: Race 6 @ 3.05pm
FRONDEUR (6) is undefeated in two first up runs both over this distance. Her only other start was in Group 3 company when she wasn't disgraced behind the talented How Womantic. With natural improvement she's the one to beat here. LADY LOFT (2) was close up in Saturday grade last start when first up. She has a solid second up record as well as at this circuit and should be thereabouts again. HIGH EXCALEBRATION (4) just missed last start when first up and has won two from four at the distance. Keep safe. BONS ABROAD (7) creates plenty of interest having won nicely first up over the short course. Her best form is over further but she has to be respected here. SELECTION: #6 Frondeur to make a winning return.

Gundagai: Race 2 @ 1:50pm
Will run along in this. BOXING (1) has come back in good order, placing in 2/3 starts. Ridden forward up in trip last start and stuck on bravely behind Previso. Miller building a good affinity with him and the on-pace advantage at this course will play into his hands. CAPE CLUSTER (2) was terrific at good odds last start. Still on the up and should be hitting his straps third run back. FARAGE (6) is becoming costly. He's got the ability to blow these away but is doing too many things wrong. Bombed the kick last start behind an all the way winner and it was curtains from then on. Backs up and should be kept safe. ALLUVIAL (11) for the multiples. SELECTION: #1 Boxing straight out.
Bordertown: Race 3 @ 2:45pm (AEST)
Rex Rocks can lead from Lyrickin's Dream. LYRICKIN'S DREAM (13) placed second five times before just missing the placings second-up beaten 1L at Gawler 7 days ago. She missed a nose there prior and fitter she can break through in country grade using the low gate. SANDHILL REBEL (6) was okay on debut on the heavy and then had no luck late at Murray Bridge. He looks capable of improving into the finish. MONTPENSIER (10) is ex NSW and just missed the placings resuming for the new yard. She'd been away for a long time and has to be given a chance with the 3kg claim and getting a good ride. SCOPEN SUCCESS (11) will use the handy gate and will be better second-up. SELECTION: #13 Lyrickin's Dream rates best and gets her chance sitting low in the weights and drawn to advantage.
Carnarvon: Race 3 @ 5:00pm (AEST)
Early pace across the barriers with Behrooz the likely leader. CHEVAL DE VAGA (7) won a Belmont trial easily and then resumed there in a CL3 beaten 2.5L. He fronts up here after 11 days and the blinkers go on first time. He has more to give and should have these covered. VIOTTI (8) was okay resuming for the new yard and then made a ratings spike just getting up at this level. He will be better for that and is a hope again. MYTHICAL TRUST (1) placed twice after the win and then had no luck the latest. He will ride the speed from the low gate and can make the finish benefiting from the 4kg claim. BEHROOZ (3) resumed in good order and has more to offer. He won't be far away controlling the race. SELECTION: #7 Cheval De Vaga is well-suited.
