Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Scone, Benalla, Moonee Valley (night), Sunshine Coast (night), Gawler, Launceston & Canberra.

Moonee Valley: Race 8 @ 8:45pm

Pippie absolutely flies from a standing start and looks sure to lead with Hey Doc and Bella Vella expected to be among those prominent. TREKKING (1) ran really well here in the Moir with the 1000m just unfolding a touch too quickly for him. Built on that effort when standing up to the pressure and running a typically brave race in the Everest last week and if he is able to bring that form here on the quick turnaround he is the one that they have to beat. DIRTY WORK (6) ties in with that top sprinting form up in Sydney and he kept on improving when winning the Schillaci last time. Can continue to head the right way. The flying PIPPIE (8) ran them off their feet in the Moir. Now has the stretch that out to 1200m but she will lead and give them something to think about. HEY DOC (2) and BELLA VELLA (9) are Group One winners, Hey Doc having won this race in 2017, and both must be respected. SELECTIONS: Backing Trekking with the big formline down from Sydney.

Canberra: Race 3 @ 2:30pm

Underthespotlight looks the likely leader from wide out. WANDONNA (8) has placed the last three and was brave behind Astero here the latest as favourite. McDougall is re-united and can deliver the deserved win. LUFTWAFFE (13) comes to peak and has been racing in stronger Maidens. Ran in town the latest and the Newcastle effort prior certainly stacks up. On the 9-day return and looks up to winning. LA RECONQUISTA (5) creates plenty of interest. She's an import in the O'Shea yard and worked home okay at Goulburn first-up. She's up to this at best and the market will tell if she's ready to fire. GAMBLER'S QUEST (2) is Wandonna's stablemate and finished the race off well first-up when well in the market. They've put Ford on today and he can improve to make the finish. SELECTIONS: #8 Wandonna ticks plenty of boxes.

Scone: Race 4 @ 3:20pm

From out wide expecting both Taketheshot and Sportsman to push forward and try to cross. DANZA IN THE DARK (1) should go well. He's put the writing on the wall with two strong placings this time in. Had to make a sustained run from the rear more recently and he did the job nicely. Blinkers on. Drawn to settle closer in the run and with clear air at a key stage he should take plenty of beating. MOYASSAR (2) was runner-up at Pakenham before a spell. Now with the Cody Morgan yard, he possesses nice scope and should be given plenty of thought despite the carpark draw. SCATJAK (3) showed ability last campaign. Had over a year off the scene which isn't ideal. Two trials to prep him up. Watch the market. WORTH A CHAT (4) best of the remainder. SELECTIONS: Danza In The Dark each-way.

Benalla: Race 8 @ 4:05pm

A genuine tempo in the Cup with the speedy Reine Happy and Easy Beast leading the way. HARLECH (2) is a former Kiwi who presents third-up off Caulfield Group 1s. The Group and Listed form in NZ stacks right up for this and expect the Moroney yard to have him ready to fire. On-song he's the one to beat. EASY BEAST (5) gets the 8kg weight drop off the strong-rating placing at Cranbourne. He will push forward and run along and is a serious player despite the grade lift. BLACK SAIL (4) resumes for a star yard and expect him to be ready. His best would have him in the finish and he gets a soft ride from the low gate. HARIPOUR (1) also resumes and is good enough. Is Group performed over longer trips and its a question of whether he's wound up for a first-up go. The late market is likely to tell. SELECTIONS: A suitable assignment for #2 Harlech.

Launceston: Race 9 @ 10:15pm

Gee Gee Lanett to lead unchallenged. GEE GEE LANETT (4) turned in a strong run last time when a desperately close second over 1000m at Hobart, leading until the dying stages. That run followed a seven-week break so will strip a lot fitter. Ready to win on a six-day turnaround. PERFECT AWARD (2) knuckled down strongly when 1.5 lengths from the winner over 1220m at this track recently. Will drift back but wind up late - the small field will help his racing pattern. GEE GEE TRUE STORY (1) didn't fire a shot when resuming from a spell in a similar race to this 13 days ago. Has won 2/2 when second up and his track/distance stats are outstanding. Can improve sharply. SILZOAR (3) might find this a bit rich but does get some welcomed weight relief. SELECTIONS: #4 Gee Gee Lanett to dictate terms and win the last.
