Racing And Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 25.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings today are held at Sale, Gosford, Sunshine Coast, Kalgoorlie, Warracknabeal, Sapphire Coast, Hobart and Alice Springs.
GOSFORD: RACE 2 @ 1:35PM
HAVEN (6) has seen a few stables in her short career but looks to be nearing a win this time in. First-up was a handy third at Newcastle when making steady ground from the back. Drawn to get a soft run from gate three and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. Right in this. TOCOMAH (3) did a few things wrong on debut but still managed a solid second at this track when well in the market. Will take plenty of natural improvement from that race day experience and looks the main danger. A LAND OF (4) has been handy in both runs at Hawkesbury since joining the new stable and can be right in the finish. TELLUSASTORY NIC (8) has been in the top four at her past three starts and can earn another cheque. ARIMATHEA (5) has placed at this track and is one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Haven to win.

KALGOORLIE: RACE 3 @ 1:55PM
IRON SHARP (1) is fast and came to this level beaten 1.8L seeking the hat-trick. Has the speed to manage the sticky gate and can bounce back keeping the handy 2kg claim for a form apprentice. BRIGHT GLOW (3) peaks off two near-misses. Hasn't won for more than a year but fitter gets his chance drawn low and with the high stable-striker back in the saddle. APACHE PATROL (2) needed the run resuming at Ascot but is right up to this at best. Will have come on and the 3kg claim brings him right into it. GOODBYEFEDS (4) is on the improve and won't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Backing Iron Sharp.
SAPPHIRE COAST: RACE 4 @ 1:55PM
THE BURNING (7) resumes with a nice trial placing at Nowra under his belt. McDougall goes back aboard. Has showed talent, but just needs to put it all together and he can win this. ARLARK MOFEED (3) is a former Phillip Stokes galloper resuming for the David Kelley yard. Draws well and Nick Heywood takes the ride. Will be fitter for the Moruya trial and is sure to be in the finish. GORUSH LIGHTNING (2) turned in an improved performance at Moruya last time out. Draws well and the claim of Molly Bourke is a plus. Has the figures to win this on his best form. ALAN (8) wasn't beaten far at Moruya fresh and will be fitter again. Is a winner over this track and trip previously. Keep safe. GRAZIE (12) was well beaten at Dubbo but his run at Nowra two back was good. Gets in light. Not out of this.
SELECTIONS: The Burning to be to show his class.
WARRACKNABEAL: RACE 6 @ 2:15PM
DIXIE BUILT (2) was too classy this grade winning by 3.5 lengths last time at Murtoa. Same weight, same inside draw and will take catching again. FANTASIA'S CHOICE (1) lifted to score narrowly by a long neck last time out at Wodonga but rises in weight. At peak and will be tough to hold off with any luck form the draw. RUDY RUDE (3) ran 2.3 lengths away from the winner last time at this track on a soft track and drops in the weights. Went close the start prior and looks a genuine each way chance. THRUM (5) is another who can do much better.
SELECTIONS: Dixie Built will take catching.
ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 4 @ 3:50PM
NOBLE ALBERT (1) led and won by a space jumping the CL2 off the Maiden win. The leading hoop sticks and the ex NSW galloper rates to go right on with it over the long sprint. DESERT LASS (3) deserved the 58 win. Needs to find more to top the above but has won at 1400m and is on the 7-day return. ELEMENTAE (2) wasn't beaten far against the above and races at peak fitness. It's been a long time between drinks but he may sneak into the placings. SPACE COWBOY (4) gets a low gate today and can finish closer.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Nobel Albert.
SALE: RACE 10 @ 4:20PM
WORSFOLD (5) is lightly raced and progressing nicely through his grades. He's won both runs back from a spell impressively and from an inside draw can get the run of the race and should take running down at the finish. HIGHLAND JAKK (12) returned in good fashion last start and despite an awkward draw he can figure with added fitness out to this trip. GET IN THE QUEUE (9) has the speed to cross from a wide draw and despite the rise in grade should be thereabouts again. SUKOOT (8) should find this easier than recent runs and is capable of sharp improvement.
SELECTIONS: Worsfold can continue the picket fence.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 4:50PM
BUSTEDUP (8) seeks the hat-trick off a dominant first-up win at Rockhampton making it 4/7. Was heavily-bet again and the promising galloper can go right on with it. RISING STAR (10) was plain at Eagle Farm but the Doomben placing prior stacks up. Gets plenty of weight relief at this level and can prove a danger. DEPTHS BELOW (9) is a stablemate who also races at peak fitness and has been knocking on the door in town at this level. He can also make the finish. BETTER THAN GROOVY (6) won the CL6 at Rockhampton and can fill out the first-four.
SELECTIONS: Backing Bustedup to win.
