Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 4th September 2021

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on September 4.

Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Moonee Valley, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Belmont.

RANDWICK: RACE 9 @ 4:30 PM

KING OF SPARTA (13) was just awesome when getting onto a good track for the first time last start winning easily at Kembla over 1200m. Race has already produced three subsequent winners and he is expected to take that next step. Wide draw the knock. GEIST (11) just blew out late first up and should derive good improvement from that run. Rates highly on best form and with Bowman booked she looms as a major threat. EIGHT DIAMONDS (16) continues to race well this time in and has to be included from the middle draw while the fresh SAQUON (17) appears the next in line.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on King Of Sparta.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 8 @ 4:50 PM

Plenty of these look set to do their best work later in the prep and over further, and maybe we could say the same of SUPERSTORM (4) but his best form to date has come over the mile and he did more then enough when resuming in the Lawrence last time. Perfect set up for him and his best should take care of them. BEST OF DAYS (1) comes through the same race and is another that can improve for that run out to the mile now. Think that pair can turn the tables on SIERRA SUE (14) who won there. She did it well but faces tougher. ELEPHANT (11) also comes off winning over the Caulfield 1400m but at a much lower level. Won well, and has a chance to measure up, but certainly facing a much stiffer test of his talents.
SELECTIONS: Backing Superstorm to get back to this best now.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 4 @ 1:33 PM

The Waterhouse-Bott yard brings NAVY CROSS (4) north and he looks well placed. He led from a wide draw and boxed on well when beaten less then 2L over 2000m at the metro meeting at Kembla Grange last time. Has a win and a placing from two tries at this trip. Goes forward from the low draw and looks hard to get past. HONORABLE SPIRIT (2) is going great guns winning three of his last four starts, all of them at Gold Coast. Has led throughout in his last two and while he attempts the longer trip for the first time he is going very well. LAST WEEK (1) worked home for fourth at this trip last time and is better drawn. TOP ORDER (5) deserves respect off the last-start win while WARP SPEED (3) can play a role aided by the rails draw.
SELECTIONS: Navy Cross to dominate from the front and win.

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 4 @ 1:57 PM

CROWN MINT (1) didn't have a great deal go his way two weeks ago but comes back to an easier grade here. Importantly he adds a furlong so should not get run off his feet. Should go close. GIVE ME TEN (7) kicks back off after contesting Melbourne races. She is bred to want ground and has run well first up before. EQUAL BALANCE (5) has regularly been around the mark of late. He'll be one finishing the race off. BOLT BY (4) is better suited here. Could even need longer though. WILD IMAGINATION (8) didn't have best of luck a fortnight back.
SELECTIONS: Fancy Crown Mint. Save on Give Me Ten.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 2:37 PM

CAMPESE (3) had no luck when runner-up last time out and this is no harder. Very close to a win and if he gets the breaks he's a big threat. OHBEEH (1) is finding one better quite often but is always competitive and races up on the speed. Definite chance. LONEHAND LARRY (5) is another in good form and threatening to win a race soon. Must be included. GLAMOUR PACKED (7) and ROCKY PATH (9) are racing well enough to be in the finish if they have the right runs.
SELECTIONS: Campese to win. Trifecta 3-1,5,7,9/1,5,7,9.
