Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on September 9.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Mornington, Lismore, Townsville and Northam.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 7 @ 5:15 PM
KYPREOS (8) has been in the placings at his past two starts, finishing third last time over the mile at Gosford. Bayliss was on board for that placing and sticks. Will be reaching peak fitness now fourth-up from the spell and looks a genuine contender. COMMAND KING (2) is a consistent type with three wins and four placings from ten outings. Has placed two from two at this circuit and is from a very good barn. Looks one of the key chances. TIP TOP TIMING (9) is very honest not missing the top five at his past eight starts. Has placed two from two over this distance range and rates a top-three hope. SHADOW GIRL (4) has placed at this track and can earn some minor money. JUST A BROTHER (3) loves his home circuit with a win and three placings from five starts and is one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Kypreos to win.

MORNINGTON: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
SALTON SEA (1) just missed at Echuca at first run since coming from Singapore. Will be fitter for the run and should be tough to beat. EXPECTANT (2) had fitness on his side when getting the money at Echuca. Fit, in form and on home track. Won't be too far away. HYDRO STAR (3) has had the two runs back from a spell and hasn't been too far away. Should be at his peak now and is expected to run well. JAY GATSBY (4) has been freshened since latest outing. Disappointed last time but previous form was excellent. Has to be respected.
SELECTIONS: Back Salton Sea to win.
LISMORE: RACE 5 @ 3:45 PM
AMIRYKAL (1) was a narrow last-start winner when saluting in Open company over 1200m at Murwillumbah. Draws the pole but carries extra weight off that win. Bold showing expected. BAILEYS (2) disappointed in his final appearance five months ago before being spelled, beaten 15L last in the Country Championships Final at Randwick. Has too much class not to be competitive in this. ARISTOGRATS (3) debuts for a new stable and boasts a handy fresh record with three wins and a minor placing from seven starts. Has trialled well in the lead up and is worth considering. SHE'S CHOOSIE (4) failed to threaten in her last start before being spelled, beaten 6L at Grafton on January 24. Looked good when winning a Lismore trial and should not be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Amirykal.
TOWNSVILLE: RACE 6 @ 4:12 PM
ZOUVILLA (6) races handy and has had one blip in a string of strong efforts. Was too good the latest and the 3kg claim keeps the weight lift manageable. The gate's sticky but he can win again with average luck. HALCYON HOUSE (7) improved again beaten 1.5L behind the above. He can race handier and get closer. SIDE HUSTLE (5) won the CL3 and then wasn't far from Boom Gate at Mackay. Gets 3kg weight relief and is going well enough to be a winning chance. BREAK MY STRIDE (1) has been racing in Open grade and was only beaten 1.9L here the latest. On the 7-day return and can fill-out the first four.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Zouvilla.
