Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings today are held at Doomben, Benalla, Mornington, Bathurst, Devonport, Port Macquarie, Naracoorte, Alice Springs and Toodyay.

BATHURST: RACE 3 @ 2:19PM

VASCOTTO (3) showed utter disdain for her rivals last time out with a six length romp at Wellington. Will be sure to take plenty of confidence from that victory and gets Cavallo back in the irons. Has placed at this track and rates among the leading chances. OH NO MIKKI (6) looked good winning first-up at Moruya and will take natural improvement second-up from the spell. Can measure up against this lot. Former Victorian GAGA'S BELLE (2) is having her first run for the new stable and a watch on betting is advised. MISSILE MAGIC (4) will strip fitter second-up and has won over this trip. In the mix. MISS MAGNUM (5) is one from one over this course and distance and is a must for the multiples.

SELECTIONS: Vascotto to win.

PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 3 @ 2:40PM

ELECTED (3) is backing up after 9-days after the placing over 1400m at Newcastle in stronger. Peaks now for a leading barn and 29% stable-striker Penza replaces the apprentice. Clearly the one to beat. WIKI (7) returned from a break with a solid effort here over 1200m. Jumps 300m and has strong figures this distance range. Has good early speed and is a player. PULITZER PRIZE (4) was narrowly defeated over 1400m at Tuncurry. A decent chance finding his Victorian best and he can improve again. EEZEE BOOMER (2) finished behind a smart one last time out. Has the pace to overcome the wide draw and won't be far away.

SELECTIONS: Backing Elected to win.

ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 2 @ 2:56PM

BUTTERFINGERS (1) reaches peak fitness and is ready to win in easier grade. Was just beaten this trip two-back and will be saluting with a return to that. POLICY (3) won this grade by a space and then was plainer as favourite after. Prepared to forgive that and a bounce is likely. RHYTHMICAL (4) is hard to catch and wasn't far away the latest coming back from Darwin. Has been briefly freshened and won't be far away. THE LADIES MAN (2) disappointing the latest in stronger grade but was good in a strong form race prior. His best figures would have her in the mix.

SELECTIONS: Backing Butterfingers.

MORNINGTON: RACE 5 @ 3:15PM

STEINEM (3) resumes having shown Group class ability during her first campaign. Although this is likely to be on the short side, she has a sharp turn of foot and can finish over the top of them off a solid tempo. Look for her to use this as a stepping stone to better races over the Spring. ZOUSHINE (1) returns to a distance she won over three starts ago when first up. She'll settle just behind the speed and will be well placed to pounce late. She has the form to go close.ENERGY WITHIN (4) impressed winning narrowly at this track last start and is worth including among the chances again despite an awkward draw. JUDESTAR (5) is a winner first up and is one for the exotics.

SELECTIONS: Steinem is the class runner.

BENALLA: RACE 6 @ 3:35PM

TURBEAU (8) brought decent form to resumption and surprised the market with the close-up placing in much better grade than this. Had won a trial and fitter he can take this out with the blinkers and Egan going on. SPARE CHANGE (5) had one run last campaign for a near-miss in a Flemington 70. Battled home first-up in a Sandown (H) 78 and drops grades in this. Gets a sticky gate but sharp improvement is on the cards. CHIPSAREDOWN (2) resumes and McDougall is a go-to jockey around these parts. He is 2/4 fresh and has trialled. He will push forward and has to be kept safe. REAL GUN (11) resumes and has placed fresh. He's up to this and the betting will say if he's ready to go.

SELECTIONS: Going with Turbeau.

DEVONPORT SYNTHETIC: RACE 5 @ 3:39PM

LUCKY BUCKY (4) returned with an impressive first-up win, carrying 61kg over the 1150m. Back to 1009m looks no negative and he gets a bit of weight relief for the rise in grade. LE CADEAU (3) has his first run of the campaign, trialling up stylishly twice in readiness. Suspect he is wound up but may find this a bit sharp. TROJAN STORM (5) franked the form of Lucky Bucky when he won last week at Tayah Stalker's first career ride. Her 4kg claim gives the 8YO a nice swing at the weights. GEE GEE QUEEN BEE (2) is a notoriously good trialler, and she did just that on Tuesday with the fastest time of the day. Barrier 7/7 makes things tricky. ARTUSO (1) is deep into a campaign that's seen him routinely around the mark in races like this.

SELECTIONS: Lucky Bucky to win.

PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 6 @ 4:35PM

RELUCENT (5) has switched from the Waller barn on a 22 day return. He was plain the latest but just missed this trip prior at Eagle Farm off even better efforts at Caulfield. Gets the blinkers again and he'd be winning this at best. FANTASTIC BABY (4) was beaten 1.5L over 1900m at Gosford in a 72 and gets weight relief at this level. McGuren is a key jockey booking and the gelding has the early pace to cross over and sit handy. ONEMORE SAPPHIRE (2) tackled city class at Randwick the latest beaten 1.7L. Will enjoy the easier company and is certainly good enough. GALWAY (6) charged home to finish 1.5L away at Coffs Harbour fresh. Rise in trip suits and he won't be far away from the good draw.

SELECTIONS: Backing Relucent.

NARACOORTE: RACE 6 @ 4:40PM

HEBERITE (2) is probably the first galloper to race here for the premier Victorian barn. The former Kiwi brings strong flat form and was last seen leading and winning a Ballarat hurdle over 3400m. Drops significantly in the weights and will take a forward position. Will see it right out and take beating. HE EKSCELS (1) runs along and two-back was beaten a lip over 2500m in a Morphettville 78. That's the run to go on and he looks a player over the longer journey. BEAR ARMS (4) hasn't made an impression in her last few starts but three-back placed in the city 78 over 2500m and six winners have come out of that. Draws for a soft run and can make the finish. IRONICAL (6) wan an easy winner over 2500m at Murray Bridge. Sits handy and is worth consideration over the longer journey.

SELECTIONS: Backing Heberite to win.

TOODYAY: RACE 7 @ 4:50PM

ALLURING (4) has had one blip in a string of strong efforts. Runs along and was just nudged out the latest at York. Draws low and is the one to beat. DENGA (1) won comfortably at Junction and then was out-graded at Carnarvon. He gets in well with the 2kg claim and a bounce is on the cards. TRADE PRIZE (3) resumed in good order at York and has plenty up the sleeve. He's won 2/4 second up and despite the wide gate will be very competitive with the 4kg claimer sticking. METALLIC QUEEN (9) wasn't beaten far three-back at Belmont and got to within 1.4L the latest at York. He also draws out but gets the winkers first time and she can't be ruled out.

SELECTIONS: Backing Alluring.

DOOMBEN: RACE 9 @ 5:01PM

SALATEEN (6) is up from Sydney and having her first start for Tony Gollan. Has trialled solidly in preparation for return and is expected to give this a shake first-up. COTTON FIELDS (3) looked in need of the run when resuming. Strips fitter and comes back in trip this time. Should not be discounted. SHOOTING ROSES (5) landed the prize in good style at the Gold Coast second-up and now that she's found form can go on with it. FIRST CROWN (4) wasn't far away last start and drops back to the 1200m trip today. Draws for a good run and won't be far away.

SELECTIONS: Back Salateen to win.
