The Jason Lim trained The Executioner went down as favourite last start but had no luck and can atone at Kranji on Saturday.
Ridden by Simon Kok, The Executioner got caught up along the inside passing the 500m and by the time he got into the clear the bird had flown.
Knuckling down well late he was only beaten just over a length and should be right at his peak racing third up.
Formerly trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young in Australia, The Executioner displayed decent ability in his 20 starts, saluting twice and was placed on eight occasions.
He left Australia rated 83 by Timeform and has been given a winnable mark in Singapore.
Sporting the blinkers for the first time last start he showed good improvement when he arguably should have won.
Leading rider Danny Beasley takes over on Saturday and should enjoy a good run from the inside draw.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he sits clear off the back of his last start and with even luck should take plenty of beating.
The Mark Walker trained Stenmark has been building nicely and a big tick with Duric linking aboard for the first time.
An eye catcher late behind Lim's Kosciuszko last start he looks well placed in this Class 4 event and should get a lovely run from the middle draw.
Although not a prolific winner (1/12) he has shown fair ability and with luck in running he looms as a major threat.
The Desmond Koh trained Legend Of The Sun won well at this course and distance last start and while up in the weights he still looks well placed.
His third win from 28 starts Legend Of The Sun has since been kept fresh (48 days) and is expected to be prominent from the outset.
If able to hold his form he is sure to be right around the mark.
Of the rest the consistent Winning Hobby appears the next in line.
