There are nine races but small fields for another Parks track meeting this week.
The staying race of the day (Race 4) really is a hurdler’s flat and so happy to be taking a horse with decent flat ability in Meli Melo.
The mare won the Oakbank Cup just over a month back and then took on too hard a task in the Warrnambool Cup.
She hit the line hard two weeks back in a Group 3 race setting her up well for this against easier company.
There does appear good tempo even in the small field, so hoping she doesn’t have to make a long run but hard to see her not running well.
Thinking there may be a little more value as the day goes on in the form of Strategic Demand now better suited to the mile third up.
He only battled away at Flemington last week but now finds a race of less depth.
Even though up in weight, should get a sweet run all the way and has a jockey riding with confidence.
A track just softened will be fine as others are well into their preparations.
