A pull in the weights over his main rival sees Snitch well placed at Doomben on Saturday.
The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old enjoys a drop back from stakes racing in the A Night In France Handicap over 1350m.
Snitch hasn't been far off the placegetters at his past two at Listed level, running on for a 1.7 length fourth in the Eye Liner Stakes then was unlucky when involved in a bumping duel in the straight in the Glasshouse Handicap but still kept coming for fifth.
He was a huge run before that when he charged home against the pattern of the day to miss by a nose at Eagle Farm.
Brad Stewart rode that day and goes back aboard and Snitch returns to a course where he is proven.
He takes on a smart field where Amanaat looks tough to beat but Snitch gets a 6kg pull in the weights and that could tip the balance in his favour.
Melbourne form should come to the fore when Queensland newcomer Kings Full goes around in the day's opener.
Formerly trained in Victoria by Mick Kent and Mick Price, the four-year-old has his first outing for Kacy Fogden in the TAB Class 3 Plate over 1615 metres.
Kings Full is lightly-raced but has shown his share of ability, placing at Sandown in a benchmark 84 last start after finishing 2.6 lengths away in open company at Flemington.
He also cruised home by 3.3 lengths in a Cranbourne benchmark 70 three starts back so looks well placed in a class 3.
Kings Full has been racing over further but he showed he had some zip in his legs when winning a 1050m trial at Beaudesert and that hitout should have him primed for a mile after a seven week freshen up.
