We are back to Ascot for the summer period of racing.
Some nice horses are starting to come back as we are only six weeks from the main carnival races.
Going for the horse that ran 6/4 fav in the Karrakatta Plate as a bet in the 3yo Classic. Jericho Missile sat forward in the big one and dropped out but he might have been at the end of his campaign.
It was reported post-race that he was showing signs of shin soreness and that can easily happen to the baby.
From this lovely draw he should position up beautifully and so the odds on offer early could end up pretty nice.
William Pike rode him twice including the Plate but had the commitment to his stable.
Over to the last where Lady Sass tries to repeat her first up victory in 1MW race over 1400m.
After being 8th in the WA Oaks and then a better 4th in the WA Derby, coming from of the speed, she resumed by charging over a field at 1300m.
That is a great sign and probably she would be favourite bar for drawing right off the track.
It may not be so important if the track plays fair given the pace will be on and her racing pattern.
Suspect we'll do even better on the day as well.
