Sydney Specials: Randwick - 26th October 2019

3 minute read

Still licking the wounds from last weekend, but we butter up again and looking to bounce back at Randwick on Saturday.

Not one to usually bet in Highways, however I can't not be betting this weekend.

The Kody Nestor trained Fast Talking  won three on the bounce before not beaten far behind Miss Einstein last start.

Ridden cold over 1550m at Randwick (K), he didn't have the best of luck and loved the way he closed off late.

Confident this has always been the target and they went to Randwick to keep him ticking over.

He is already a Class 3 horse so they essentially needed to find somewhere for him to run without winning (wouldn't be eligible for Saturday's race if he did), if he was to win I'm sure they would have been very happy - it was a win/win going to Randwick.

From the wide draw he is expected to press forward and looks to land outside the lead.

The much in-form Glen Boss takes over and he should take a power of beating.

The Team Hawkes trained Master Of Wine had the blinkers on for the first time last start and he clearly relished the step up in trip.

Ridden cold by Tim Clark, he was home at the top of the straight and returned a clear new career peak.

Jumps up to Stakes company, but rates top on last start ratings (weight adjusted) and you'd be a brave man to suggest he doesn't have more to come.

On trial at the trip, but was finishing fast over 2000m and should be very strong late.

Lack of obvious tempo is some query as he is likely to settle last, however he is trending the right way and confident he can overcome this hindrance.
