The Shane Baertschiger trained Aramaayo appears well placed to make a winning return when due to contest the eighth event on Sunday night.
Formerly trained by James Cummings, Aramaayo [Old Name: Aramayo] has displayed good talent in 14 starts, despite only notching up the two career wins.
He is Group 1 placed and rated 115 by Timeform on career best form.
While only able to run up to that level on the one occasion, he has proven time and time again that he is a 100+ horse.
In his two starts last preparation he returned Timeform ratings of 88 and 87, indicating there is certainly more under the bonnet.
While not easy taking on star galloper Top Knight, he gets a 6.5kg pull in the weights and has drawn to get a lovely run for Simon Kok.
He has placed in 2/3 attempts first up and has placed in 3/5 attempts over 1400m.
Given two trials in the lead up, he should be fairly forward and loved the way he found the line in his most recent effort.
Hoping he can get a jump on Top Knight, as I doubt he can beat him if they make their run together.
Horses generally improve in their second preparation in Singapore and if that's the case, he should prove hard to beat.
No question the Michael Clements trained Top Knight is the main danger following an eye catching performance first up.
While unable to reel in the much in-form Altair, he was a sectional star and can only improve further second up.
Top Knight has won four of five over this trip and has drawn to get all the favours for Vlad Duric.
In five attempts aboard the 4YO, Duric has won three and placed in two.
Never easy giving weight away to all of your rivals, however you cannot question his class and he should prove very hard to hold out.
The Mark Walker trained Sacred Croix ran on well first up and has placed in 2/3 attempts second up.
Gets his chance at the weights and while likely to get back, he is another that should be strong late.
Of the rest, the Lee Freedman trained Loyalty Man appears the next in line.
An encouraging third up first up behind Altair, he has won second up previously and Freedman has elected to make a few gear changes leading into this, watch for further improvement.
