After a good Winter carnival, the highlight of Saturday’s meeting is the Jockey Celebration Day Sprint.
The key to the card and this race in particular is the change in the track conditions.
The meeting two weeks ago, which feeds many of these, was raced on a very wet surface and with rain on the day which makes it tougher.
One of the horses who clearly didn't enjoy it was Jericho Missile as he plugged home behind Massimo.
However his form over the Summer carnival was pretty good for a race like this and when you consider he wasn't far from Group form lines, he now drops to 54kg.
Very much doubt many of these could contest those races so while conceding he is back to 1000m, hoping he will sit back and swoop late.
Thinking it might be a good day for the David Harrison stable as Silkinize gets his opportunity to win a race under the record breaker William Pike.
The gelding got back to near last over this course and distance last time and rattled late to just miss.
This race shapes up similarly but hoping from the gate he might be in front of a few rather than giving away a massive start.
