Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 2

Racecourse : Gold Coast (Australia)
Racecourse : Gold Coast (Australia)

Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Gosford, Echuca, Sandown, Gold Coast, Bunbury, Gawler & Launceston.

Gold Coast: Race 7 @ 5:50pm AEDT

Expecting Parko and Exactamente to vie for the early lead in a high-pressure race. PINNACLE STAR (5) is a very honest gelding resuming from a five-month spell. Races well first up, with two wins and the closest of seconds over this trip last prep, from three attempts. Drawn to enjoy a lovely sit in behind a slick tempo. Looks the one to beat for the lethal Vandyke/Maloney combination who hit 39% winners. SUPERBOWL SUNDAY (3) was a narrow winner last start over this journey at Ipswich in a Class 5. Has a good record at this trip with three wins and three placings from nine runs. Sure to measure up again. PARKO (7) returns from an 81-day break. Generally needs a run to find form but has the pace to take a forward position and will give some cheek. BARODA (8) is a handy type who resumes after a 200-day break. Opened last campaign with a very close third at this track and distance after leading until the dying stages. Fitter for three recent trials - has to be respected. SELECTIONS: This sets up beautifully for #5 Pinnacle Star to win first up.

Gawler: Race 5 @ 3:40pm

The pace looks average overall with no designated leader. RUSTYDUSTYSUNSHINE (5) comes to peak and only missed 1.4L at Strathalbyn the latest. Gets Pannell for the apprentice and rates to take this out. FERGIE (4) won a 52 easily on the same day as favourite and keeps getting better. Draws low again and is a danger. ARCTIC BLAZE (7) resumes and goes okay fresh. Will be competitive if presented on song. FAY'S JOY (9) has raced well the last two and won't be far away with a good ride. SELECTIONS: Looks the right race for #5 Rustydustysunshine on the home track.

Gosford: Race 5 @ 4:20pm

READY TO SOAR (4) is a filly in form. Led and kicked on well when a one length winner last time over 1200m, making it two from two at this track this time in. Hard to knock that form and can extend the winning run. ELEGANT GRACE (3) showed some decent form last campaign. Resumes off two trials and usually races well fresh. Looks suited in this line up. TESTING TIMES (7) and THINKING CAP (6) are both first up winners capable of going on with the job. SELECTIONS: #4 Ready To Soar to win again.

Sandown: Race 5 @ 5:40pm

Chequerboard likely to take up the running. SEA PRINCESS (6) did a good job on resumption and then overcame a bump at the start to win the Maiden heavily-bet. Gets a handy gate and Kah first time and she looks promising enough to go on with it. CHEQUERBOARD (1) comes off a solid effort in Listed grade where she didn't have the best of it. Led and just missed on resumption and the 3kg claimer can control the race from the low gate. Feared. MONA DREAM (3) won comfortably as favourite on debut and can build on that. SURFACING (4) gets the rail and a leading hoop and will improve off the debut win. SELECTIONS: The betting edge may be with #6 Sea Princess at the current $8 each way.

Launceston: Race 4 @ 8:00pm

Solid tempo with several sitting handy and Stelladoni finding the lead. LADY OF FORTUNE (6) will be better for the two runs back and at the 1400m. Her ratings are strong and will get every chance to post her second win. STELLADONI (4) found Ravage too good here second-up but covered the others and should have more to offer. Draws low and will get her chance. SUBTLE CROSS (5) didn't miss by far second-up in a bit stronger and fitter can make the finish at odds on the 7-day return. BOGAN BILL (1) mightn't appreciate the rail but is headed in the right direction. SELECTIONS: A good contest but #6 Lady Of Fortune might have an edge at an each way quote.
