Sun Council At His Top Third Up

3 minute read

The Desmond Koh trained Sun Council should be right at his peak third up and looks hard to beat at Kranji on Saturday.

Due to contest the fifth event, Sun Council steps out onto the turf track for the first time, having placed in three of five attempts on the polytrack.

Only lightly raced he has shown fair ability and looks well placed on Saturday.

A game effort behind Lim's Unique first up, Sun Council made the jump up from 1200m to the mile last start and only went down narrowly.

Fighting hard the whole straight, he returned a new career peak and now sets up well dropping back to 1400m.

From the inside draw he looks to receive all the favours and could in fact lead with Beuzelin sticking aboard.

Finds himself in a fairly weak maiden and if able to springboard off his last performance, he should prove hard to beat.

The Stephen Gray trained Valencia has also shown fair ability and has to be respected in his return.

Placing in three of his four starts, the five-year-old returns from almost a year off the scene (322 days).

He has trialled three times in the lead up and showed good improvement in his latest.

The wide draw is some query, but he does have the speed to take up a forward position if they wish.

With even luck, he looms as a major threat.

The Dan Meagher trained Don't Tell Tilly has placed in two of three attempts this time in and did close off well late last start behind Entertainer.

Still a maiden after nine starts, but she has placed on three occasions and appears suited in this line up.

A big push with Maia linking aboard for the first time and she has to be kept safe.

Of the rest the Donna Logan trained Qiji Star appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
