A highly competitive Raconteur Stakes is the main race on the Belmont program this weekend.
Every horse bar the toppie has won at either its last or second last outing so you are considering good current form in this.
Going to go for the race fit, match hardened Billy Ain't Silly who loves to lead and draws the inside so has every opportunity to drive up and hold the front again.
While we do concede that he is back from the mile, his best win was in that race and the key is he loves firmer tracks.
His only recent defeat was on the soft and so watch for him to get rolling a fair way out under Laqdar Ramoly as that can draw the sprint out of a few of these and make those early in preps a little vulnerable.
Punters do love a leader and a winner so we may not do better than the current betting.
Over to the last where Bright Diamond gets a good chance to make up for a bit of an unlucky defeat first up.
She was strung up three back the fence and had to wait and wait then weaved a passage to only go under by a half head.
However she has to be better fitness wise but also with the added furlong, gets more chance to pick up.
The one attempt at the 1400m was a win and from the good draw we hopefully will see William Pike have her in a position to strike around the bend.
