We've had to be patient waiting for the Team Snowden trained Smart Image but he looks set to line up tomorrow in the ninth event.

Scratched from two heavy tracks, he is 49 days between runs but looks in fine fettle judging by his latest trial.

A winner of three of his first four starts, he lost his way a touch before showing he was back on track last start at this course and distance.

Forced to go back from the wide draw he was a sectional star and looks well placed to go one better on Saturday.

Suspect he can settle closer from the inside draw and with clear air he should prove hard to hold out.
