The ‘Home of Football’ as it will be for a couple of weeks has also continued its damp spell but Belmont may keep improving toward the race meeting.
Fancy that the quick change of form can be continued for Roman Flirt in Race 4 over the mile and is worth following now.
After only one trial she was plain resuming which is no surprise and it was on a Heavy surface.
She then went up a furlong at Northam and worked over the top of them late with William Pike back on.
He is on again for this race and third up at this journey is always a great set up.
There is a little drop in weight as well and all his best is at this and further so he surely builds on that effort.
Then we might wait until the last where Spin The Knife kicks back off over the short course.
The new season 3yo won on debut and then was well supported in a Supremacy Stakes before leading and fading away in the Karrakatta Plate.
Clearly his best was when leading so the 1000m won't be a hindrance and drawing the inside means that speed he has will help him find a good position or in front from that starting point.
On breeding he should handle any conditions and the fact Pike has jumped on is a positive given he hasn't been up before.
