Hard to get excited early about Rosehill this week with a fair few unknowns heading into Saturday.

The track is currently a Heavy 8 with storms predicted for the next few days, that coupled with dual acceptors it makes it tricky doing your form on Thursday.

The Chris Waller trained Sword Point is the early favourite in the third event having been beaten at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Would be interested in his chances if he was to back up however it doesn't seem like something Waller would do.

Stablemate Sur La Mer is another accepted for Saturday who ran on Wednesday however with a wet track assured she is no chance of taking her place.

We almost landed the money in the Midway last week and we go again this Saturday with the Annabel Neasham trained Metro Legend.

A noted wet-tracker he returns gelded off the back of two nice trials.

At the weights he appears well placed and the booking of McDonald is an obvious push having won in his only previous attempt aboard the four-year-old.

Drawn awkwardly but there doesn't appear speed in numbers so he should be able to roll forward and slot in just behind the lead bunch.

Metro Legend has placed in two of three attempts fresh and if able to produce a near peak performance on Saturday he should prove very hard to beat.

The fifth event looks a messy race on paper with no noted leader engaged but I'm hoping that allows Wairere Falls to settle closer from the inside draw.

The half brother to former stable star Sacred Falls, he really came of age last preparation and while his form appeared patchy, he actually was very good, he often just got caught too far back.

Have loved his two trials leading into this preparation and the last time McDonald rode him he walked in at Randwick over 1500m.

A field of eight provides a great each-way opportunity as if he settles first half I can't see him missing a place.
