Strathmore Bendigo Bank Stakes, Listed $140,000 at Moonee Valley, 1200m.

Tasmanian raider The Inevitable continued his excellent strike rate, taking out win seven (third stakes) in just nine career starts and though wide from the 700m drew clear in the straight for an impressive victory.

He was second last soon after the start but began his move from the 700m, pulling four deep to get handier to the pace.

Rounding into the last corner he was still four wide yet only a half length from the lead, took over just short of the straight then booted clear at the 200m.

To the line he was full of running then eased slightly to win by four lengths. Deprive sat sixth (rails) from the 800m, moved out soon after but was in traffic rounding into the home straight.

He didn't see daylight until the 150m then ran on without chance to edge into second just short of the post.

Spirit Of Valor was back and wide from the 600m, moved up widest to be fifth turning in then kept up a solid run, just losing second near the line.

Oak Door was second turning in and kept going strongly only to be nutted on the line to be fourth.
