Tied fourth, Australia's Brett Coletta will give his career a huge boost if he can win the Korn Ferry Tour's Club Car Championship in Georgia.

Young Australian golfer Brett Coletta is well-placed to claim a breakthrough victory on the secondary Korn Ferry Tour in the US.

The Victorian heads into the final round of the Club Car Championship in Savannah, Georgia, two shots behind leader Max McGreevy.

Coletta posted a three-under 69 third round to be tied fourth on 13 under.

McGreevy also shot 69 and will play in Sunday's final group for the first time on the development tour as he aims to become the first wire-to-wire winner since Kramer Hickok at the 2018 DAP Championship.

He leads at 15 under by one stroke from Zecheng Dou (66), a two-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour and the 2016 Order of Merit winner on PGA Tour China, and Stuart Macdonald (68).

World No.424 Coletta will play in the penultimate group, seeking a second career victory to go with his 2016 Queensland Open win.

The 24-year-old is 78th on the Korn Ferry Tour standings after 17 events in the 2020-21 season.

Coletta's fellow Australian Ryan Ruffels played himself into contention in Georgia with a sparkling seven-under 65.

The equal-low round of the day, which included eight birdies, leaves Ruffels at 10 under and five shots off the pace.
