Hannah Green has a third LPGA Tour title in her sights, poised one shot off the lead going into the final round of the HSBC Women's World Championship in Singapore.

The 24-year-old Australian shot a second successive six-under 66 on Saturday to trail only China's Xiyu Lin but she faces hot competition on a star-stacked leaderboard.

Maintaining the scintillating form that earned a tied for third in last week's LA Open, world No.14 Green put together six birdies and an eagle in her third round.

Lin birdied four of the last six holes to shoot a 67 and claim the lead at 14 under.

Green is tied second with tour legend Inbee Park, the winner of seven majors, who appeared set to retain the lead until she unaccountably hit a simple wedge approach shot into water on the par 5 16th hole and made a double bogey.

"I probably didn't hit the ball as well as yesterday, but I played, I guess, pretty well and made sure I missed it in the right places," said Green.

"I tried to stay aggressive out there. Obviously, Inbee is a great player and has won so many tournaments, so it's going to be hard to keep chasing her, but I'm excited for tomorrow."

One shot further back, Mexico's Gaby Lopez shot the day's best round of 65 to be outright fourth.

Two shots behind her are the star trio of former world No.1 Lydia Ko (69), In Gee Chun (66) and So Yeon Ryu (70) at 10 under.

South Korea's Hee-young Park, who shared top spot heading into the third round, slipped to tied-21st after her game went off the rails on the back nine for a round of 79.
