A time glitch cost the Giants victory against West Coast Fever last week and it's a situation that needs to be fixed.

West Coast Fever coach Stacey Marinkovich says it's time for Super Netball to address its timekeeping glitches after last week's controversial draw with the Giants.

Gal shooter Caitlin Bassett was left gutted after her match-winning goal for the Giants was ruled out.

The referee's clock was a few seconds ahead of the time being shown on the stadium's main clock, meaning Bassett wasn't aware she needed to rush her shot.

With the goal being ruled out, the Giants were forced to settle for a 62-62 draw.

Bassett expressed her frustrations on Facebook.

"With five seconds on the clock the ball lands in my hands and I am confident knowing there is enough time to score and stop the reply goal from the opposition," she wrote.

"It is not until the goal is through the ring do I look and I see the umpire signal for no goal. The umpire's timer and the stadium clock were not in sync.

"As a player, to have no clear idea of the exact time left in a game is extremely frustrating."

Super Netball officials will conduct a review into what occurred in last Saturday's game.

Marinkovich said the glitches need to be eradicated.

"It (the timekeeping issue) has been there for a little while. It hasn't been as detrimental as to what it was on the weekend," she said.

"With technology, you've just got to evolve and see where those glitches are and make those improvements.

"Obviously with the scoreboard above the court (at RAC Arena), sometimes you can't see it.

"So, we've definitely got a clock beside our (bench).

"But with games, there's so many timeouts, there's injuries, balls were flying, umpires were calling time, so at some point there is a slight delay between the two (clocks)."

West Coast remain 11 points adrift of fourth spot, and can't afford another loss - or draw - when they take on the Adelaide Thunderbirds at RAC Arena on Saturday night.
