Australian netball has lost two key administration figures within the space of a week, with Chris Symington to join Marne Fechner out the door.

Australian netball has suffered a double blow after Super Netball boss Chris Symington joined Netball Australia CEO Marne Fechner on the exit list.

Symington announced on Friday he will be quitting his role as Super Netball chief executive to focus on his family life.

The decision comes just a week after Fechner announced she will be leaving Netball Australia to become the inaugural chief executive of AusCycling.

Both Symington and Fechner are expected to leave in December.

Symington joined Super Netball in its second season in 2018, leading the league as executive general manager of events for one year before spending two years as the competition's chief executive.

During his time as league boss, Symington maintained an environment that has attracted the world's best netballers to Australia and increased broadcast viewership.

His toughest challenge arrived this year, when he led the league through the COVID-19 shutdown and subsequent Hub in Queensland.

Symington said the time was right for him to step aside and focus on his family.

"My wife and I have recently welcomed twin girls into our family, so it's time I take a step back and spend this special time with my wife and four beautiful daughters," Symington said.

Meanwhile, the league is still investigating potential salary cap breaches by West Coast Fever.

Last week, West Coast revealed the Super Netball Commission was investigating a "compliance matter" in relation to the club.

The matter is reportedly related to the 2018 and 2019 seasons, and the Fever is believed to have self-reported the issue.

The Fever reached their maiden grand final in 2018, before losing to Sunshine Coast Lightning by three goals.

Last year, Fever finished sixth with just two wins to their name.

West Coast Fever managing director Simon Taylor and club chairperson Deane Pieters quit following the club's two-goal grand-final loss to Melbourne Vixens last month.
