Brisbane's scheduled four-match stint at home at the end of the AFL season has been disrupted by a fixture switch with Fremantle.
The AFL clash between Fremantle and Brisbane on Sunday has been switched to the Gabba following Perth's recent COVID-19 scares.
The Lions were scheduled to take on the Dockers at Optus Stadium but the prospect of fans locked out for a third straight match in Perth prompted the AFL to move the game to Brisbane.
Potential problems associated with getting the Lions in and out of Perth were also a factor.
Sunday's match will remain in the same timeslot at 4.40pm AEST.
The Dockers will travel to Queensland on Wednesday and will be based on the Gold Coast.
After taking on the Lions, Fremantle will travel to Melbourne for their round nine match against Essendon at Marvel Stadium on May 16.
West Coast's home clash with Adelaide on May 16 could also be moved if restrictions in Perth aren't eased in time.
Fremantle missed out on about $1 million in lost revenue when their round six home clash with North Melbourne became a lockout.
West Coast's home western derby against Fremantle last week - in which 45,000 fans were initially allowed to attend - also ended up becoming a lockout, costing the Eagles about $2 million in lost revenue.
This week's fixture switch means Brisbane's clash with Fremantle in round 21, which was initially scheduled for the Gabba, will now be played in Perth.
The change disrupts what would have been a four-game sequence of home games for Brisbane to finish the regular season.
Perth Glory's A-League contest with Melbourne City at HBF Park on Wednesday night will be played behind closed doors due to the restrictions in place.
Glory hope a crowd will be allowed for their home clash with Melbourne Victory on Sunday.
Perth was plunged into a three-day lockdown late last month after a traveller contracted COVID-19 near the end of his hotel quarantine and then infected a friend once he was released.
Last week's western derby became a lockout after a quarantine hotel security guard and two of his close contacts tested positive to coronavirus.
