Auguste Rodin will face eight rivals in Sunday’s Group 1 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh as he bids to give trainer Aidan O’Brien a record-extending fifteenth Irish Derby and bring up a 100th European Classic for the master from Ballydoyle.

There were just six horses taken out at the Epsom Derby confirmation stage on Monday with Aidan O’Brien’s Irish 2000 Guineas winner Paddington the most noticeable absentee.

Paris Peacock continued her progression with victory in the Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies & Mares Stakes at Gowran Park.

Peter Moody has trained Covent Garden, a half-sister to Winx, to her maiden victory.
