Scott Spackman has high hopes he can land a hometown feature on the opening day of the Wagga carnival.

Outstanding galloper Front Page proved to be levels above his opponents in last year’s Iron Jack Wagga Town Plate and despite a huge jump in the weights and a wide draw he has been installed as favourite for Thursday’s feature race.

An outstanding field of sprinters will face the starter on THURSDAY for the $200,000 Iron Jack Wagga Town Plate (1200m) on the opening day of Wagga’s 150-year anniversary Cup Carnival.

Magnetic – with a second to none record of any horse to race in the Southern Districts in recent times – faces his biggest local test in the Wagga Town Plate Prelude (1200m) on Sunday.
