Race Synopsis:Honest Gaulois took over at the 100m and was able to hold out his challengers over the last 50m to score his maiden stakes win at start 24. He settled third last early and began improving from the 800m from where rider Rachel King had him wide but gaining on the leaders with every stride. Upon straightening, he kept gaining, caught the leaders at the 100m, got a half length in front at the 50m and held that to the line. Firsthand sat just back and outside the leader from the 800m, shared the lead from the 400m, led alone at the 150m but was collared at the 100m, holding on well for second. New Tipperary sat fifth (rails) at the 600m, seemed flat at the 300m but found more late along the inner to run into third. Nicci's Gold finished quite well out of the pack for fourth.
