Race Synopsis:Cup Night took his record to four wins, the last three in succession and his maiden stakes win with a gritty win here. He was fourth of seven early and remained one off the fence past the 1200m. There was no change in the order past the 600m but jockey Pat Carbery pushed him up three wide ready to challenge into the straight then took over narrowly at the 200m. He put a length on them at the 100m then had to withstand a strong challenge himself, holding on very gamely by a long head at the line. Rebel Knight sat second last, one out down the river side, tracked the winner rounding into the home straight, let the leaders get away at the 200m then flew hard, especially the last 50m for a close second. Shuwish sat fourth (rails) turning in then went wider from the 200m finishing strongly for third.
