Race Synopsis:Vinland toughed out the last 100m in gritty fashion here to score his maiden stakes win and fifth overall at start 18. He began with them but soon after dropped back to settle fifth last three out. The field compacted at the 800m and inside the 600m he was still wide but gaining. Nearing the straight he was widest of all but ready to challenge, got to within a length at the 300m then co-led inside the 200m. To the line he was challenged hard on his inner, lost the lead briefly then rallied to lead again, holding on for dear life by a long head. Duca Valentinois was also well back from the 800m, tracked the winner into the straight, raced up to grab the lead at the 250m then had a great tussle and gave all he had only to be nutted just short of the line. Order Again was second last at the 800m, tracked Duca Valentinois into the straight but took longer to wind up then charged hard over the last 100m, a short neck away in third. Cellarman was handy enough at the 350m then plugged away gamely for fourth.
