Race Synopsis:The John Sadler-trained gelding Oak Door was a surprise first-up winner at odds of $31 here, his second Group victory and sixth win in 23 starts. He began well from his wide barrier (10) and settled in fourth place, caught deep. He went to second (still wide) approaching the home turn and kept responding to Ben Melham, finishing best in the closing stages to grab a game (head) victory. Jungle Edge soon worked across from his outside barrier (13) to lead and he then set a quick tempo. He got a break rounding the home turn, only being caught in the final stages for a close second after running a bold race. Princess Of Queens raced in fourth place, between runners, got through to be in a challenging position at the 200m and then kept battling on well to take third. The well-supported Malibu Style was slowly away, settled in eighth place, improved between runners (under riding) at the home turn and kept running on in the straight for (1.4 lengths) fourth.
