Race Synopsis:One of five chances across the track at the 250m Despatch pulled into the lead and held on gamely for his second stakes win and fifth overall victory in nine starts. He began well but was three wide yet handy and held that position turning in, peeled out wider at the top of the straight and was one of five chances at the 250m. He grabbed the lead inside the 200m then held them at bay in game fashion by a long neck at the post. Zalmona was a shade unlucky. In behind the leading five turning in but in traffic he didn't get out until the 200m then finished hard for a good second. Crown Fontein ground away to hold third from Heart Of A Lion who pulled very wide into the straight and kept on solidly to the line for fourth.
