Rouge Dior recorded a surprise win when making all in the Bulmers-Jungle Mist Classic. She began quickly from her wide barrier (13) and soon crossed to the lead. She travelled well in front and grabbed a good break on turning for home. Although tiring and drifting away from the rails in the latter stages, she clung on to score by a long head, putting up a good run after her early efforts. Rose Of Choice was just past midfield, about tenth and three wide with cover. She fanned wide coming to the turn, where she was giving the leader about six lengths, and came with a good late run for a close second. Ejay’s Girl was about seventh, wide with cover, switched out rounding the home turn and continued to fight on nicely in the straight for a close third. The favourite Takanori ($4), unbeaten in her first four starts, was sixth but trapped three wide without any cover. She was under pressure from the home turn and weakened to finish 14th, beaten four and half lengths. *ANZ
