Ihtsahymn under his top weight proved too good coming from well back and wide on the turn to score a narrow but good victory. Authentic Style was good in defeat. He came from a little worse than mid field three wide with a trail. He made his move with the winner and matched him down the straight but just could not get his head in front. He was in receipt of five kilograms from the winner but it was a good effort all the same. Respondent was also good. He raced three wide throughout and sustained a long run to only just go under in the final strides. *ANZ
