Who Dat Singa began well and raced in second place behind a steady tempo. He moved up and went to the front coming to the home turn, dashed clear on straightening and was not threatened from that point to win comfortably. Kia Ora Koutou was back in second last place in the nine-horse field and tracked up (three wide with cover) from the 800m. He was under riding on the home turn and made late ground for second. He appeared to be disadvantaged by the moderate early pace. Cappo d’Oro was seventh in the early stages, improved wide with cover from the 800m was fourth at the home turn before battling on to take the minor placing.
