Volkoff followed her promising second in the Jungle Mist Classic (Listed, 1200m) at this track on 25 November when having her third run this preparation with a good win here, albeit in a disappointing field of four runners. She settled in last spot, behind a good pace, before improving nicely rounding the home turn. She then sprinted quickly, took the lead at the 100m and went on to win well. Durendal raced behind the leader (It’s It), was pushed back to last at the home turn, eased deeper at the 200m and ran on nicely in the sprint home for second. Tenterden raced outside the leader to the home turn and then battled on to take third while It’s It weakened for (4.7 lengths) last a er leading to the home turn.
