Six-year-old gelding Falcon Crest broke through for his first stakes win in 30 starts in scoring here. He had a good trip in fourth place on the rails, behind a steady pace. He improved behind runners at the home turn, got a split at the 100m and then fought on to score by a long head from Woodsville who had been handy all the way with Dark Alert holding on for third.
