Having his first start, Ducimus was was well from the gates and was taken straight to the front. He travelled well in front before kicking strongly in the straight, fending off all challenges and having enough to hold off Undoubtable Miss who came from well back to finish a closing second. Undoubtable Miss raced wide without cover in the run and took the home turn on the outside of the field. She closed very strongly late to just miss the winner.
